Dumka: A 36-year-old man died on the spot after a speeding truck hit his bike near Bagtarpa Lakhanpur of Jamtara district late on Thursday. He was identified as Santosh Murmu (36), a resident of Babanadiha village under Ahilyapur police station area in Giridih district.Murmu, a daily wager, was returning home from Chainpur-Chapapur after work when the truck hit him from opposite direction. Following the incident, a long queue of vehicles was seen near Lakhanpur Mor, causing traffic disruption.The body was later taken to Narayanpur health centre, where doctors declared him dead.Meanwhile, villagers intercepted the speeding truck involved in the accident near Jumman More and handed it over to the police, while the driver escaped. The victim’s cousin, Dinesh Murmu, said that Santosh was the sole breadwinner of the family. He is survived by his elderly parents, wife and three minor children.
