Dumka: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Deoghar celebrated its eighth foundation day on Monday. A programme, held to mark the occasion, was organised at the institute’s campus in Devipur in Deoghar district. Union minister for woman and child development Annpurna Devi, Godda MP Nishikant Dubey and others were in attendance.“AIIMS Deoghar aims to become one of the largest hospitals in eastern and northeastern India. The institute would serve not only Jharkhand but also neighbouring states such as Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal,” AIIMS director Dr. Nitin Gangane said.“Our goal is to develop this institute as one of the biggest healthcare institutions in the region. The hospital, which is spread across nearly 300 acres, will be further expanded to provide advanced medical facilities to more people,” he further said.Gangane said reputed doctors and healthcare professionals from across the country are being appointed to ensure quality treatment for patients here. “AIIMS Deoghar is not only strengthening healthcare services but is also contributing significantly to social development in the region,” he said.Praising the Centre’s ongoing efforts in the healthcare sector, Annpurna said, “Major changes are being witnessed in the country’s healthcare system under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. Through the Ayushman Bharat healthcare scheme, lakhs of poor families have received hope for better treatment,” she said. The union minister further said the institute has accelerated development in the district and created employment opportunities in nearby areas.“People have immense trust in AIIMS, and to strengthen this confidence, new AIIMS are being established across the country,” she said.Dubey stressed on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the healthcare sector. “Under the PM’s leadership, AI is being increasingly used in healthcare and other sectors to drive development. The more AIIMS Deoghar advances in technology and modern medicine, the more beneficial it will become for people,” he added.
