Rims PG student found dead at residence

Ranchi: A 32-year-old postgraduate student of Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (Rims) was found dead at his residence at Kathal More on Saturday, police said. The deceased was identified was Dr Sanu Sanal Barwar.Barwar was a first-year PG student of surgery and the son of health department’s former director late Dr Himanshu Shekhar.Police said that the forensic science laboratory team, which examined the room, found no signs of suicide or murder. Barwar’s house was locked when his driver came to wake him for duty, police said. When he did not respond, duplicate keys were brought from his family, who live in another locality in the city, to open the door, the police added.Officer in-charge of Nagri police station, Praveen Kumar, stated, “Police recovered the body and sent it to Rims for post-mortem examination. The exact cause of death would be ascertained only after the report comes.”RIMS junior doctors’ association president Dr Jitendra Kumar said, “It is sad that two talented students have passed away in 14 days. On May 16, an MBBS second-year student was found hanging in his room in a Rims hostel.”
