ACB arrests four in Rims land encroachment scam
Ranchi, March 12 (IANS) In yet another crackdown on corruption in Jharkhand, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday carried out trap operations in two districts, arresting a police sub-inspector in Koderma and a woman Panchayat secretary in Gumla for allegedly accepting bribes.

Ranchi: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) nabbed four persons in connection with illegal encroachment on Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences premises in Ranchi city late on Monday eveningIn a press statement issued on Tuesday, the ACB said that the arrested persons are Rajkishore Badaik and his brother Kartik Badaik, Rajesh Kumar Jha and Chaitanya Kumar. All of them are residents of different parts of Ranchi district.It claimed that the accused made a wrong genealogy for their personal gain and indulged in sale and purchase of the Rims land. It may be stated here that on the direction of Jharkhand high court, the ACB registered a case under the relevant section of BNS and the Prevention of Corruption Act on Jan 5 this year.The court asked the state govt to fix accountability on each official involved in the malpractice and adequately compensate the residents whose constructions have been demolished during the anti-encroachment drive, adding the expenses should be borne by the erring officials and the builders.
