The APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has declared its 2026 results, with B.Tech recording a record 60.1% pass percentage. Female students significantly outperformed males, while B.Des and BHMCT also posted strong results. The university completed evaluation in record time, and the College of Engineering Trivandrum emerged as the top-performing institution.

The APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has declared the 2026 results for B.Tech, B.Des and BHMCT programmes, with the B.Tech pass percentage touching its highest level so far at 60.1%. The results were announced in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday by Higher Education Minister Roji M. John.The B.Tech programme recorded a 60.1% pass percentage, marking the strongest performance since the university began publishing consolidated results.The figure shows a steady rise from 51% in 2025. Earlier years remained largely in the 50% range, with fluctuations between 46% and 55%.A total of 30,810 students from 127 engineering colleges appeared for the examination this year. Of these, 18,515 students cleared the programme. The B.Des programme recorded an 84.72% pass percentage, while BHMCT recorded 76.1%. A total of 1,376 students secured CGPA above 9.0. Another 6,309 students crossed CGPA 8.0.

Girls record significantly higher pass rate

Female candidates registered a 77.1% pass rate, with 9,203 out of 11,937 students clearing the examination. Male candidates recorded a 49.4% pass rate, with 9,322 out of 18,873 students qualifying. The gap between the two groups remains wide in the 2026 results.

Honours and minor degrees

In the Honours stream, 965 students qualified for the B.Tech Honours degree. Under the Minor programme, 2,207 students qualified, while 310 students completed both Honours and Minor requirements.

CET tops list of engineering colleges

The College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) recorded the highest pass percentage at 86.2%.Other top-performing colleges include:

  • LBS Institute of Technology for Women, Poojappura – 85.9%
  • Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science – 85.8%
  • Barton Hill Government Engineering College – 85.1%

Overall, 82 colleges recorded pass percentages above 40%, while 62 colleges crossed 50%.
