Ranchi/Dhanbad: As thousands of NEET (UG) aspirants across Jharkhand prepare for Sunday’s retest, many are balancing intensive revision with anxiety and fatigue after weeks of uncertainty. Students who had briefly paused their studies following the original examination are now trying to regain focus and confidence ahead of what many see as a crucial second chance.Mental health experts and coaching institutes have advised candidates to prioritise calm over last-minute cramming. RINPAS counsellor Siddharth Sinha said prolonged uncertainty can trigger anxiety, sleep disturbances and burnout, recommending regular routines, adequate rest and realistic revision goals. Coaching institute director Pankaj Singh said students should stick to NCERT-based revision, handwritten notes and mock-test analysis, warning that panic often affects performance more than gaps in preparation.NEET aspirant Shambhavi Suhana described it as emotionally draining. “Getting back into the routine after a short break was exhausting, but now I am focusing only on revision and staying positive,” she said.Meanwhile, district administrations have stepped up preparations to ensure a smooth and malpractice-free examination. In Ranchi, the retest will be conducted at 21 centres with magistrates and police personnel deployed at all venues. Prohibitory orders will remain in force within a 200-metre radius of examination centres from noon to 8 pm on Sunday. In Dhanbad, where the examination will be held at seven centres, including IIT (ISM), BIT Sindri and Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University, deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan has directed officials to maintain strict vigilance and ensure compliance with all examination protocols. A dedicated control room will also remain operational during the examination to monitor arrangements and maintain law and order.
