Ranchi: Amid the ongoing war of words between the Congress, RJP and CPI-ML over alleged crossvoting during last week’s elections to the Rajya Sabha seats in the state, JMM on Monday said a joint review meeting will take place soon to review the poll outcomes. The party also claimed that the MLAs who cross-voted have been identified. While JMM candidate Baidyanath Ram won one seat, Congress candidate lost to BJP-backed independent Parimal Nathwani. Jha’s defeat led to a war of words within the alliance. While Congress blamed RJD and CPI-ML legislators for not supporting their candidate, the RJD and CPI-ML accused the Congress MLAs of ditching their own candidate.JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya on Monday said, “There is no rift within the alliance. Reviewing the outcome of an election, be it victory or defeat, is a standard and established procedure that will be undertaken soon.”“Understand it this way; for those 50 MLAs who voted together for JMM and Congress, Hemant Soren and Rahul Gandhi are their leaders. For the 28 MLAs who voted for NDA backed candidate, PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are their leaders. Some from INDIA bloc who did cross vote, they have been already identified.”JMM said Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan should step down for his “inefficiency to conduct examinations smoothly in the country”. Citing re-NEET, in which the Air Force transported question papers, Bhattacharya said, “The Union ministry of education entrusted National Testing Agency the task of conducting exams, but it is now duly cleared that the body has failed completely. The Centre is so helpless that it is forced to rope in Air Force to ferry question papers. The ministry should hang its head in shame. It also exposes how Modi govt is failing the education system in the country.”
