Chatra/ Hazaribag: A community health officer (CHO) posted at Chatra sadar hospital was among the three persons who lost their lives in road accidents in Chatra and Hazaribag districts on Saturday, police said.A community health officer (CHO) posted at Chatra sadar hospital was killed and two others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two motorcycles near Indu fuel station at Pandemahua village under the Giddhaur police station limits, police added.The deceased was identified as Sachin Kumar, a resident of Giddhaur, police added.Locals rushed them to Sadar Hospital, from where Sachin was referred to Hazaribag. But he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The two injured, identified as Naseeb Bhuiyan and Anand Bhuiyan of Sinduwari village under the Giddhaur police station area, are stated to be in serious condition.Officer in-charge of the Giddhaur police station, Purushottam Agnihotri, said, “An investigation is under way to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. The body of the deceased CHO was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem examination.”In another incident, a youth was killed in a head-on collision between his bike and a truck at Barhi Chowk in Hazaribag, police said. The deceased was identified as Bablu Rana (23), a resident of Panchmadhav Kolanga village. Eyewitnesses said the motorcycle was completely mangled under the impact. Locals took him the subdivisional hospital in Barhi, where doctors referred him to Hazaribag. But he succumbed to his injuries on the way.A case was registered and an investigation launched into the case. The truck involved in the collision has being traced and the driver nabbed, police said.In another incident, a toto driver was killed when a truck heading towards Bagodar from Hazaribag rammed into the toto at Jabra Chowk under the Daru police station limits in Hazaribag. The deceased was identified as Rinku Khan alias Karu Khan (35), a resident of Irga village in Daru block. Rinku was taken to the sadar hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The body was sent for post-mortem examination and then handed over to his family.
