Bokaro Range IG reviews Dhanbad law and order, seeks action against crime syndicates

Dhanbad: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Bokaro Range, Shailendra Kumar Sinha, on Monday directed Dhanbad police to intensify action against organised crime and ensure stricter enforcement of law and order during a high-level review meeting held at the District Collectorate.The review was attended by the SSP Prabhat Kumar, city SP Ritwik Srivastava, rural SP S Mohammad Yakub and other senior police officers of the district.During the meeting, IG Sinha assessed the overall law and order situation, progress in pending criminal cases, ongoing action against criminals and the district’s security arrangements. He instructed officers to continue sustained operations against organised crime syndicates and dismantle their networks completely. Stressing the need for effective policing, he asked officials to remain vigilant and ensure prompt action against all forms of criminal activity.The review also focused on improving crime control measures and strengthening public confidence in the police. The IG directed officers to maintain close monitoring of criminal elements and ensure that investigations are completed efficiently and within the stipulated time frame.Responding to queries regarding the recent alleged threat calls made by absconding gangster Hyder Ali alias Prince Khan to Dhanbad MP Dulu Mahato and Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee, IG Sinha said that police have already taken action against the accused in the past and legal proceedings against him are continuing.He reiterated that the police would not allow any criminal activity to succeed and would take every necessary measure to maintain peace, public safety and law and order in the district. He also expressed satisfaction over the ongoing police action against the gangster and reaffirmed that strict action would continue against organised crime and those involved in threatening or extorting public representatives, businessmen or ordinary citizens.
