Chatra: Police arrested Vilas Yadav, 54, prime accused in the murder of his younger brother Kailash Yadav, 50, and sent him to judicial custody on Wednesday, a day after the killing at Datmi village in Chatra district.On Tuesday, Vilas, his wife, Malo Devi, their two sons and other relatives allegedly beat Kailash to death with sticks during a clash over ancestral land. A purported video showing the assault has gone viral on social media.Family members said the brothers were locked in a property dispute for a long time, and several village panchayats failed to resolve the issue. On Tuesday, Kailash was ploughing the disputed field when Vilas and others objected, and an argument escalated into the fatal assault.On a complaint by a relative, Pooja Kumari, an FIR was registered against six accused in the murder. Hunterganj police station OC, Prabhat Kumar Singh, said raids were on to arrest the remaining accused, and “no one involved in the murder would be spared”.
