Chatra police arrest 2 Prince Khan aides in extortion case

Chatra: Two key associates of Dhanbad gangster Prince Khan were arrested by Chatra police in connection with an extortion case registered at Hunterganj police station. Chatra SP Animesh Naithany said the accused managed the gang’s financial network, including hawala transactions and routing money to shooters.On the SP’s directions, a special investigation team led by SDPO Sunny Vardhan raided Bhojpur in Bihar on July 10 and arrested Mohammad Ashfaq Alam, 30, from Kayam Nagar and Saddab Ansari, 28, hailing from Dhanbad and residing in Kayam Nagar. They were brought to Chatra on Saturday and remanded in judicial custody.The case was registered under different sections of BNS on Dec 11, 2025, following a complaint lodged by social worker Prem Singh of Pindra village, alleging the gangster demanded extortion money and issued death threats.Police seized a mobile phone and documents allegedly linked to Khan’s financial transactions. Investigators said the phone had details of transactions between gang members and shooters. During interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted to overseas financial links and hawala transfers. Police are probing the network further.Naithany said Saddab has extortion, criminal intimidation and Arms Act cases at Bank More police station, and attempt to murder, vandalism and Arms Act charges at Govindpur police station, Dhanbad.Police earlier arrested Aman Khan, accused of tracking Singh, issuing threats and preparing for an attack. He was sent to judicial custody. The gangster’s associates Murtaza Ansari, Mohammad Nazim and Krish Kumar Singh alias Ayush were earlier arrested in the same case.
