Bokaro: Twenty police stations across the district were provided scientific investigation kits on Tuesday.Each kit contains 2,000 shoe covers, 2,000 disposable caps, 2,000 pairs of hand gloves, 2,000 face masks, 120 traffic cones, 20 rolls of crime scene tape, 15 megaphones, 42 sirens, 15 portable outdoor sound monitoring (POSM) machines equipped with hand-held sound level meters, and 39 search lights.Bokaro SP Nathu Singh Meena said, “The move will enhance the quality of investigations, ensure quicker justice and increase the chances of securing convictions against offenders.”Meena asked investigating officers to make optimum use of the kits in every serious criminal case.The initiative aims to modernise criminal investigations by enabling investigating officers to collect scientific and legally admissible evidence from crime scenes, file charge sheets within stipulated timelines and present stronger, fact-based testimony before courts.
