NEET UG 2026 cut-off released alongside results; Check category-wise qualifying marks, percentiles
The National Testing Agency has published the NEET UG 2026 cut-off alongside the result, detailing the minimum qualifying marks and percentiles for each category. The revised cut-off is higher than last year’s, indicating a more competitive examination. Qualified candidates can now begin the counselling process for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, B.Sc. Nursing and other undergraduate medical programmes.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the NEET UG 2026 cut-off along with the declaration of the NEET UG 2026 results. Candidates who appeared for the undergraduate medical entrance examination can now check both their scorecards and the qualifying cut-off on the official website.The cut-off specifies the minimum percentile and marks required to qualify for the counselling process for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, B.Sc. Nursing and other undergraduate medical courses. The results and qualifying criteria were announced on July 16, 2026.

NEET UG 2026 cut-off: Category-wise qualifying marks

The qualifying cut-off has been prepared on the basis of the percentile criteria prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Along with the qualifying percentile, the NTA has also announced the corresponding marks for each category.

Candidates who have secured marks within the prescribed cut-off range for their respective categories will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.

NTA releases category-wise qualified candidate data

Along with the cut-off, the NTA has also published the number of candidates who qualified under different categories.

The agency has clarified that these figures represent candidates qualifying under the categories mentioned in the official scorecard. Separately, the NTA has stated that more than 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for NEET UG 2026 across all categories.

Cut-off marks rise compared to last year

The NEET UG 2026 qualifying marks have increased noticeably compared to the previous year, especially for candidates in the General category.

What should qualified candidates do next?

Candidates who have met the qualifying cut-off can now proceed with the admission process. The next steps include:

  • Download the NEET UG 2026 scorecard.
  • Register for the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) counselling for the All India Quota seats.
  • Apply for the respective state counselling process.
  • Fill in preferred colleges and courses.
  • Participate in the seat allotment rounds as per the counselling schedule.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official websites of the NTA, MCC, and their respective state counselling authorities for updates regarding registration, choice filling, and admission schedules.
