Hazaribag: A wanted member of the outlawed left-wing extremist outfit Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) was arrested from the Lawalong area of Chatra district on Monday, police said.The accused, identified as Naresh Ganjhu alias Ravikant, 33, was apprehended from a forested area near Mandhaniya village.Simaria sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Nagargoje Shubham Bhausaheb told reporters that the operation was launched following intelligence inputs that an active TSPC member had returned to his native village. Ganjhu was arrested about 100 metres from a football ground near the village.“He was absconding in several serious criminal cases,” the SDPO said.Police said six criminal cases are pending against Ganjhu in Chatra and Latehar districts. The cases include kidnapping, extortion, attacks on security forces, illegal possession of arms, and involvement in activities of a banned extremist organisation.“He was produced in court, which sent him to judicial custody,” the SDPO said.
