J’khand DGP pushes joint border ops to curb Maoists

Sanjay Sahay | TNNRanchi: Jharkhand DGP Tadasha Mishra, while attending the eastern region police coordination committee meeting online, stressed joint anti-extremist operations, continuous intelligence sharing and regular coordination at multiple levels to prevent any Maoist upsurge in the region. She said coordinated operations should be intensified along the Jharkhand-Odisha, Jharkhand-West Bengal, Jharkhand-Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand-Bihar borders.Mishra also emphasized joint check posts, coordinated checking, real-time information exchange, backward and forward investigation into smuggling networks, and action against organizations involved in synthetic drug transactions.Police officers at the meeting agreed to create a joint database of cybercriminals, appoint nodal officers in each state and conduct joint verification of SIM card sellers to curb cybercrimes. The DGPs of Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh also attended the meeting.
