Hazaribag: Police on Friday arrested Akhileshwar Pandey, 28, of Badam village in an assault, humiliation and witch-hunting case filed by Babita Devi, 25, in Hazaribag district.Police said Devi lodged her complaint on July 21, alleging she was assaulted, abused and humiliated. A case was registered under BNS sections 76, 126(2), 115(2), 109(1), 303(2), 352, 351(2) and 3(5), and Sections 3 and 4 of the Jharkhand Witchcraft Prevention Act, 2001.Pandey was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody. Barkagaon police station officer in-charge Deepak Kumar Singh said further investigation is under way.
