Jamshedpur: With the deadline to submit enumeration forms for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls approaching, the West Singhbhum administration has asked voters who have not yet handed over their forms to booth level officers (BLOs) to do so by Saturday.The directive was issued at a review meeting chaired by district election officer and deputy commissioner Manish Kumar with electoral registration officers (EROs) and assistant EROs. Officials were told to ensure 100% digitisation of forms by the following day and speed up verification of doubtful entries.“Those voters who have not yet submitted their enumeration forms to their respective BLOs must submit them by July 25. I appeal to all voters to actively cooperate with the administration so that the SIR exercise can be completed within the stipulated timeframe,” Kumar said.The meeting reviewed ASDD (absentee, shifted, dead and duplicate) voters in the electoral rolls. Officials were directed to re-verify such entries according to prescribed norms to ensure that the rolls are accurate and updated.For BLOs, the final stretch is demanding, with workers tracking voters who are away from home or have shifted temporarily.“Some voters are not available at their homes when we visit, while others need help in filling or submitting the forms. We are trying to reach every voter and complete the remaining work within the deadline,” said a BLO in Manoharpur.Voters in rural and remote areas have sought more assistance during the final days of the exercise.“Many people, particularly elderly voters, need help understanding the form and completing the formalities. It is important that they get adequate assistance so that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls,” said Shibu Sambhu, a voter from Goilkera.Kumar directed EROs and assistant EROs to monitor the SIR exercise regularly and conduct daily field visits to review progress. Officials were instructed to dispose of pending cases quickly.“Any negligence or unnecessary delay will not be accepted. All pending work must be completed promptly. The SIR exercise should be completed in a time-bound, transparent and error-free manner,” Kumar said.
