Jamshedpur: Several English medium schools in the city will switch to summer timings from April 20 as mercury levels continue to soar across the state.Most schools have revised class timings for kindergarten students from 8 am to 10: 30 am. Primary classes will be held from 6:30 am to 11:30 am. Secondary and senior secondary classes will be held from 6:30 am to 12:10 pm.“With effect from April 20, school timing for the KG, junior and senior sections will be different,” Loyola School Principal Vinod Fernandes said in the notice issued on Saturday.On Friday, Jamshedpur (East) MLA Purnima Sahu urged the district administration to revise class timings. Parents associations and students’ bodies had also raised the same demand.Steel City recorded a maximum daytime temperature of 41.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday, 4.8 notches above normal. Weather office has predicted a further rise in mercury till April 22.
