Dumka: A 14-year-old tribal girl of Jamtara district is seven months’ pregnant after being allegedly “sexually exploited by a 17-year-old boy of her community on the pretext of marriage”. The accused has been sent to the Observation centre in Dumka after an FIR was lodged against him in Jamtara district on Wednesday, police said.“The survivor was lured into a relationship by the accused from an adjoining village on the false promise of marriage and sexually abused. Upon discovering the pregnancy a few days ago, the girl’s family asked the boy to marry the girl, but he refused,” said an officer, refering to the complaint lodged by the survivor’s mother.“An FIR was lodged against the accused minor boy in Jamtara district under Section 65(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 4/6 of the POCSO Act. The aurvivor was sent to the Jamtara Sadar Hospital for medical examination. Further medicolegal process will be initiated based on court’s direction,” police added.
