Medinipur (West Bengal) Assembly Election Results 2026 Live: Sankar Kumar Guchhait of the BJP won the Medinipur assembly seat, defeating Manikuntal Khamrai (CPI), Pronab Kumar Biswas (BSP), Saleha Begum (Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party), Sambhunath Chattopadhyay (INC), Shankar Chakraborty (IND), Shashanka Patra (Amra Bangalee), Sk. Mafizul Haque (IND), Sujoy Hazra (AITC), Sushrita Saren (SUCI(C)).
In the 2021 assembly elections, the candidates are as follows – All India Trinamool Congress June Maliah, Bharatiya Janta Party Samit Kumar Dash, Communist Party Of India Tarun Kumar Ghosh and others. In the last Medinipur Assembly elections, the All India Trinamool Congress party’s June Maliah won by a margin of 24,397 votes. The Bharatiya Janta Party’s Samit Kumar Dash was the runner up securing 96,778 votes.
The total electorate in this constituency is approximately 2,66,722, including male and female voters across urban and rural segments.
