Rajesh Kumar Pandey| TNNDumka: A long-standing ancestral land dispute turned deadly in Jairam Danga village under Rajmahal police station limits of Sahibganj district on Wednesday, leaving a 70-year-old man dead and two others critically injured.The deceased, Rudal Yadav, was allegedly attacked while trying to intervene in a violent clash between two factions of his family. His wife Rekha Devi (60) and son Jeetu Yadav (25) sustained serious injuries in the incident.According to reports, the dispute over ancestral property between Rudal Yadav and his brother Harikishore Yadav had been simmering for a long time. Tensions escalated when boundary construction work began on the disputed land, triggering a confrontation that soon turned violent.Ramdev Yadav, son of the deceased, alleged that when the family objected to the construction, Harikishore, along with few others, attacked them with sticks. Ramdev, who suffered minor injuries, said he managed to escape, while his father, mother and brother were badly assaulted.Locals rushed the injured to Rajmahal sub-divisional hospital, where doctors declared Rudal brought dead. Rekha and Jeetu were referred to another medical centre after primary treatment, and their condition remains critical.“Five accused have been named in the FIR lodged by the deceased’s son and are currently absconding. The body was sent to Sahibganj Sadar Hospital for postmortem and later handed over to the family,” said inspector Rajiv Ranjan.(Caption: Police investigates the murder of 70 yrs old man in land dispute)
