Ranchi/Hazaribag: Four students have jointly secured the top rank in the Class 10 board examinations, the results of which were declared by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Thursday. Each scored 498 out of 500 (99.6%). A similar trend was seen in the second and third ranks, with multiple students sharing positions.A total of 4,22,109 students took the exam of which 4,02,178 have passed. It includes 2,15,066 girls and 1,87,112 boys, JAC said in a statement. In other words, pass percentage of girls remained 95.51 whereas boys stood at 95.01.Among the districts, Gumla, Dumka and Pakur emerged in the top three by scoring pass percentage of 99.32, 99.02 and 98.56 respectively.The toppers come from different backgrounds, but all credit hard work, consistency and family support for their success.Priyanshu Kumari of Indira Gandhi Balika Uchcha Vidyalaya, Hazaribag, said the result was beyond her expectations. “I hoped to be in the top 10, but getting the first rank feels unreal,” she said. From Katkamsandi block, she credited disciplined study and support from her parents and teachers. She now aims to prepare for exams like UPSC or JPSC.Co-topper Shiwangi Kumari from S S High School, Bano (Simdega), scored full marks in science, mathematics, English and Sanskrit. She said understanding concepts helped her more than rote learning. Daughter of a small shop owner, she plans to study humanities and become a lawyer.Prem Kumar of Premchand High School, Mesra (Ranchi), said he did not let pressure affect him. “I focused on regular revision and stayed stress-free,” he said. His father works at a petrol pump. His sister said his success shows sincerity matters more than stress.Sunny Kumar Verma of St Aloysius High School, Ranchi, scored full marks in mathematics, science and computer. He aims to prepare for IIT and build a career in technology. His father works at a textile shop by day and as a guard at night, which motivates him to work harder.Despite different journeys, all four toppers share a common message: focus, discipline and self-belief can overcome any challenge.
