Ranchi: Jharkhand Jaguar’s Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) on Friday carried out an extensive search at a mall on Ratu Road after an email threatened to blow up the passport office located on its premises.The email, sent on Wednesday, had threatened explosions at passport offices across the state.The BDDS, along with local police, searched the mall, including offices and shops on all floors, as well as the outer areas and parking lot. A sniffer dog was also pressed into service.Sukhdeonagar police station in-charge Sunil Kumar Kushwaha said the threat turned out to be a hoax.Police had also inspected the mall on March 6 after a similar threat to blow up the passport office, but nothing suspicious was found. Similar threats had earlier been issued against the Ranchi civil court and the collectorate.
