Chatra: Unidentified miscreants allegedly stole gold and silver ornaments, worth around Rs 60 lakh, from a jeweller’s motorcycle at Itkhori market, about a kilometre from Itkhori police station, in Chatra district on Sunday night, police said.The victim, Dilip Soni, said, “I had closed my shop around 8 pm and was on my way to home. I halted at Kalali road to collect dues from a customer. Upon returning, I found miscreants had allegedly broken open the motorcycle’s carrier and fled with a bag containing about 400gm of gold ornaments and 10 kg of silver jewellery.”Officer in-charge of the Itkhori police station Abhishek Kumar Singh said, “Efforts are on to identify and arrest the accused. Footage captured by CCTV cameras are being scanned.”
