Bokaro: A 28-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his fiancée’s brother-in-law in Giridih district three days before his wedding over an alleged affair with the bride-to-be, police said on Saturday after arresting main accused Subhash Paswan, 34.The deceased, identified as Neeraj Hajra, went missing on July 4 after reaching Jamua from Rajasthan. His wedding was scheduled for July 7. After getting off the train, Neeraj called his father at 2 pm and said, “Papa, I’ve arrived, I’m in Jamua, please come pick me up.”When his father came to receive him, Neeraj got a call from Subhash. Neeraj then said, “You go back home, I’ll come along with my brother-in-law.”His body was recovered from Bihar’s Jamui district on July 10.Khorimahua SDPO Amarendra Kumar said a special investigation team was constituted by Giridih SP Bimal Kumar to trace the accused. Police said Subhash allegedly confessed during questioning. On his information, police recovered the suspected murder weapon, a scooter, a mobile phone and a liquor bottle.Police said Subhash allegedly had a nearly two-and-a-half-year relationship with the woman and opposed her marriage to Neeraj. He claimed he acted alone. Police said they would seek a speedy trial in the case.
