Daltonganj: Five persons were arrested and a minor was detained with 5.73 grams of brown sugar in Latehar district on Thursday. The contraband was being carried in 29 separate pouches, the police said.While the five men, aged between 19 and 23 years, were forwarded to judicial custody, the minor was sent to an observation home.Latehar sub-divisional police officer Sandip Kumar Gupta said the six accused were travelling towards Latehar from Richughutta on three motorbikes when they were intercepted based on a tip-off. The contraband was recovered from the during the searches. “Three motorbikes, seven mobile phones and Rs 14,140 in cash were seized,” Gupta added. All the accused hail from Latehar district, police said.
