Hazaribag: A member of the Rahul Dubey-led criminal gang was arrested with arms and ammunition in a raid conducted in Lohsinghna police station limits of the district late on Friday, police said.In a press conference held on Saturday, Barkagaon subdivisional police officer (SDPO) Amit Anand said Hazaribag SP Aman Kumar had received information on Friday evening that members of the gang were planning some crime in Rotra village.A special investigation team (SIT), led by Anand, carried out a raid near the municipal dumping yard in Rotra and arrested Jiaul Rahman alias Mojammil, 25. Police also recovered a pistol with a magazine, two live cartridges, an empty magazine, five spent cartridges and a phone from him.“During interrogation, the accused revealed that he was involved in a plan to create panic and carry out firing incidents for extortion in the area around Banadag railway siding. “Police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Arms Act. He has been sent to judicial custody. Raids are on to arrest other members of the gang.”
