Couple says they had worked hard for the vacation
In the video, the woman said she and her husband both work full-time corporate jobs and had saved for the Hawaii trip.“So my husband and I both work full-time corporate jobs, and we saved up. We’re in Hawaii. We’re on a beautiful family vacation at a beautiful resort,” she said.She added that it was their first full day in Hawaii when everything changed.
Unexpected work call during the trip
According to the woman, at around 9 am Hawaii time, her husband received a call from his manager asking him to join a Microsoft Teams meeting.“This morning at about 9:00 am Hawaii time, he gets a call from his boss, and says, ‘We need to get you on Teams,’” she said.She claimed the company knew that he was on leave and was expected to remain on vacation for the rest of the week.“Now they know he’s on vacation. He’s supposed to be on vacation the rest of the week. This is our first full day in Hawaii.”
‘Within minutes he’s terminated’
The woman alleged that after joining the Teams call, her husband was informed that he had been let go.“He gets on Teams, and within minutes he’s terminated,” she said.She questioned why the decision could not have been communicated after the vacation.“We’re supposed to just enjoy our vacation like nothing happened?” she asked.She also shared what her husband said after the call.“He’s like, ‘It couldn’t have waited till Monday? They couldn’t have waited till Monday?’”Ending the video, she criticised the way the situation was handled.“There’s just no heart.”
