Jamshedpur bar murder accused Biswanath Bodra surrenders before court
Biswanath Mandal was sent to judicial custody

Jamshedpur: The prime accused in the June 27 bar murder case, Biswanath Mandal alias Bodra, surrendered before the chief judicial magistrate’s (CJM) court here on Wednesday. He altered his appearance to evade police at the court’s entrance and presented himself before CJM Vishal Gaurav, who sent him to judicial custody.Bodra, in his mid-30s, was accused of killing Himanshu Singh and critically injuring his friend, Pratyush Anand Singh. He carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head and was on the run for the past 11 days. “We will pray to the court for his police remand for interrogation,” East Singhbhum SSP Ehtesham Waquarib said.The SSP said that two more accused — Sudarshan Mandal alias Laltu, 30, and Rajesh Mandal, 27 — were apprehended from Rairangpur in Odisha on Tuesday.The bar owner, Neeraj Singh, who was brought to the city from Sikar, Rajasthan, on transit remand, was also arrested on Wednesday and sent to custody along with Sudarshan and Rajesh.
