Ranchi: The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) officially commenced the online registration process on Wednesday for admissions to Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses across the state.Engineering aspirants looking to secure a seat in one of the govt and private engineering institutes across the state have until July 2 to submit their applications to be shortlisted for the state merit list.According to an official notification issued on Wednesday by the order of Controller of Examination at JCECEB, Anjali Yadav, the board is inviting applications from candidates who hold a valid rank in the JEE Main 2026 examination.A board official said that these submissions will be utilised to compile a comprehensive state merit list, which will subsequently govern the upcoming counselling and branch allocation process based on student marks and preferences.Following the closure of the application window on July 2, a brief correction period will open on July 3 to allow registered candidates to edit their forms, followed by the publication of the state merit list on July 5.To qualify for the state merit list, general category candidates must have cleared their 10+2 higher secondary examinations with a minimum of 45% marks, while the requirement is relaxed to 40% for reserved categories.Eligible foundational subjects encompass a broad spectrum, including physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science, electronics, information technology, biology, informatics studies, and entrepreneurship.Seat reservations are available for various categories, including caste-based divisions, the Economically Weaker Section, Persons with Disabilities, the Service Man Quota, and primitive tribal groups.To maintain transparency, a rigorous verification process for all residential, caste, income, and disability certificates will be executed in close coordination with the respective district administrations.
