Daltonganj: Hussainabad Assembly constituency in Palamu has shown a stark contrast in the distribution of enumeration forms during the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.Sources said only 11% of enumeration forms were distributed by the BLO of booth number 121 in the first 10 days of the statewide SIR exercise. A polling booth has 800 to 1,200 electors on average, officials said.SIR’s house-to-house distribution of enumeration forms began on June 30 and will continue till July 29 in Jharkhand.A press note read, “11% of enumeration forms were distributed by the BLO of booth number 121 in the Hussainabad Assembly constituency since the rollout of SIR.”“It was detected by the district election officer, Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, during his Thursday detour of some such booths where either the distribution is far lagging behind or where the distribution of the enumeration form is 100% while its digitisation is lacking,” the note said.In contrast, booth number 136 in the same constituency recorded 100% distribution. Shekhawat sought confirmation that digitisation matched the full distribution and cautioned BLOs against overreporting or underreporting.Hussainabad has 342 booths and 3,15,924 electors, including more than 1,50,000 women, as per 2024 official records. Some BLOs said, “The enumeration form ought to have been simpler. It’s tedious.” Confusion persists over the left side linked to 2003 SIR details and the right side for the “rishtedar” (relative) entry.
