Chatra: A rozgar sevak died of critical injuries after he fell off a pick-up vehicle in Chatra on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Rajesh Kumar Sharma alias Baula. He was posted in Daha panchayat under Hunterganj block. Locals said Sharma, in his mid-30s, was found in a critical condition on the roadside but died during treatment at Sadar hospital early on Tuesday.His family members had suspected he was assaulted by unidentified criminals, but CCTV footage later revealed that he was injured in an accident. Sharma had left home on Monday evening to attend a wedding ceremony but did not return, prompting family members to search for him.Police said that he was returning from the celebrations by hanging onto a pickup vehicle and lost balance while trying to deboard, suffering grievous injuries.“CCTV footage clearly shows that he lost balance and fell while trying to get down from a speeding pickup vehicle,” said Sadar police station officer-in-charge Awadhesh Kumar Singh.
