Dhanbad: As dengue cases continue to rise across the district, waterlogging on the district collectorate campus has posed questions the effectiveness of the health department’s campaign against vector-borne diseases.Stagnant water, coupled with discarded plastic bottles, greeted visitors at the waiting area 10 metres away from the office of deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan on Wednesday. “If such conditions exist at the DC office, what is the state of affairs across the state,” said a visitor. Notably, senior health officials have tested positive for dengue earlier this week.Responding to the issue, civil Surgeon Dr. Alok Vishwakarma said “Stagnant water is being cleared, and vulnerable locations are being monitored to prevent the spread of dengue.“
