Bar-tailed godwit is a medium-size migratory shorebird that inhabits some areas of Asia, Alaska, New Zealand, and Australia. Although this bird looks not unusual, it holds some records of the longest non-stop migrations recorded in the bird world. Every year, millions of populations migrate from the breeding areas in the Arctic region to the places in the Southern Hemisphere. The migration involves a long flight over oceans, where this bird does not have opportunities to land and have rest.
