Hazaribag: Two labourers are feared dead after a section of an illegal coal mine allegedly caved in at Lurunga village in Hazaribag district on Saturday. The victims were identified by residents as Surendra Ganjhu and Shibu Bedia.According to villagers, a group of labourers entered the mine in the afternoon when a loud rumbling sound was heard. Moments later, a portion of the mine roof caved in, trapping both under the debris.Villagers and others present at the site launched a rescue operation. After several hours of effort, two bodies were recovered from the rubble, residents said.Hazaribag SP Aman Kumar said the administration received information about the incident but was yet to verify it. “A local team has been sent to ascertain the facts. However, villagers are yet to share details about the incident,” Kumar told TOI.
