Bokaro: A 37-year-old contract worker at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) died after falling off a crane on Monday. The incident took place in the Ingot Mould Foundry (IMF) department around 9:50 am. The deceased worker, identified as Ganesh Mahto, was climbing the crane when he reportedly fell off it.“Mahto was employed by M/s Neeraj Enterprises, a private agency. He sustained serious injuries after losing balance and falling from height. Mahto’s co-workers immediately rushed to his aid and shifted him to the plant’s medical centre,” Manikant Dhan, BSL’s chief of communication, said.Mahto was later referred to Bokaro General Hospital for advanced treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. Dhan added, “BSL has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and assured all possible support. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the accident are awaited.”
